Art Machine
The Art Machine is an interactive performing art piece and Artist Residency.
Interested in having your art in the Art Machine? Sign up here for the next available Art Machine six month Artist Residency (May-Nov 2026).

Photography of Art Machine by @Christianne.Ebel.Photo
The Art Machine is one of the Art Circle’s first projects. The project is courtesy of Sarah Duff (and her family), who picked up this former cigarette vending machine from south Jersey and restored it to working order; preparing it for artists to fill with their tiny art. Jacklyn Karpinski , took the freshly primed machine and transformed it into the colorful Art Machine. On May 18, 2024, at the Decade of DIY celebration, this interactive performing art piece and artist residency was unveiled.
Each residency artist can fill up to 20 boxes (minimum of 10 boxes) with whatever art they like, including (but not limited to): figurines, buttons, stickers, earrings, necklaces, keychains, tiny framed/ready to hang art, or music codes. Artists have the choice to donate all or a portion of the sales to Flemington DIY.
The Mystery Art by Mystery Artists slots are filled with art donated from previous artist residencies.
The Art Machine is curated by Aidan Mirowsky.
This Flemington DIY Art Circle program is run in English. We would love to make all of our programming more inclusive. If you can help us do that, please email Arts@FlemingtonDIY.org

Mural Battle: Battle of the Walls
This neighborly competition invites two artists to duke it out with paint, pens, and markers, for a two hour art-making extravaganza. Our host, OurNaturalState, will choose a theme associated with a single feeling, and YOU (the artist), will create something, anything, you think portrays that theme in your OWN style.
Winners get their art placed in a highly trafficked area in Flemington and other social shout outs to bathe in their winner’s glory. In the next 2025 season we decided that, selected artists participants will both receive a $120 stipend!
Mural Battle’s will be held during Sip ‘N Stroll on Stangl Rd in Flemington, NJ on the following dates:
October 16: What is American?
Want to apply? Send a sample of your work and the date you are interested in to @OurNaturalState on IG or email ournaturalstateofbeing@gmail.com
