A message from our Executive Director:
As our Why DIY? fundraiser unfolds this week, I find myself reflecting on what we’ve built together over the last 12 years, and its importance today.
In a time where technology is isolating us, the idea of a physical community space is a radical one. Someone referred to Flemington DIY as “Flemington’s Living Room,” and that truly describes our space: an essential room for togetherness, expression, and acceptance. That’s my “why.”
As a community-led organization, we are all responsible for what we’ve accomplished this year. We collected and distributed more than 9,000 food donations and hygiene products for those in need; adopted a 3-year strategic plan; hosted over 200 events; all while growing and expanding our core programming. Our volunteers, donors, and patrons are why we were voted Best Live Venue by Hunterdon Happening.
So, what is your “why?” Why do you support Flemington DIY?
