About the Artist

OurNaturalState.(Jonathan Bleibdrey) is a mixed media artist, that wants to see the world just a little bit more colorful. Jonathan has been creating since he was a young child, focusing on drawing most of his years. He ventured into film for 10 years and then when COVID hit found himself lost but, quickly finding his footing with OurNaturalStateOfBeing.

Jonathan combined his spirituality and his love of art to create something truly meaningful, if not only for himself. He started off with a broken iPad that was lying in the back of his closet, and quickly sketched for fun. He stumbled upon his first character “the masked hero”, he slowly became obsessed with his creation.

Jonathan continued drawing, getting a new iPad, drawing on paper, painting, walls, anywhere he could just doodle and for the next few years. What he was realizing as he was creating is that these 8 characters are actually a reflection of himself. Down to his core, these characters helped him find his true authentic self, and now he wants to showcase or better yet, help the world stop playing the same character all the time and possibly find their authentic self.

Artist Statement:

Hello all,

I am happy to invite you to my upcoming show, “We’re all stuck here, might as well get along”.  I created this to showcase inclusivity, authenticity, and creativity. Most of the paintings I do I try to always have some type of balance, fun but set in reality. When creating these paintings I tried using all my senses from head to toe, to help me transform exactly what I was feeling  when I was creating these paintings.

Although I use humor in these paintings, there are some hard truths of social issues that commonly arise throughout the world. I’m excited to show these wonderful pieces to you all.
