Join Flemington DIY on December 2\, 2023 from 2pm-4pm for a Holiday Card Printmaking Workshop! \nParticipants can choose to create and carve their own unique design using a rubber block\, or use one of our pre-made designs! To create an original block design\, participants will utilize a carving tool and a soft rubber block. All materials will be supplied. For more inspiration\, try Googling “block printing” to explore designs and patterns! \nParticipants will receive 5 blank cards & envelopes for printing – you are welcome to bring additional blank cards if you wish to make more. \nThis is an all ages event / no prior experience necessary (volunteers will help you along the way!). SUMMARY:Open Jazz Jams
DESCRIPTION:Open Jazz Jams are held he first Sunday of every month. \nThe sessions will provide an opportunity for musicians to play with an experienced band. From 1-2 PM the hosting musicians for the week will play. Other musicians will be invited to sit in and play between 2-5 PM (typically a minimum of 2 songs each\, circumstances permitting). With the exception of drum kit and piano\, all musicians should bring their own equipment (instruments\, amps\, drum sticks\, microphones\, etc.). The sessions will focus primarily on jazz standards and other jazz tunes contained in Hal Leonard Real Books volumes 1 through 3. Newcomers will be coached through the process.  \nA $3 to $5 donation to Flemington DIY will be required from each musician that plays at the session. Visitors that just want to listen to the music are also welcome to attend for all or any part of the 1-5 PM sessions free of charge.  \nFor questions about the sessions\, or to be added to the monthly text notification list for last minute cancellations or reschedules\, please email njjazzjam@gmail.com
