DESCRIPTION:Opening Saturday\, October 7\, 5-8pmExhibit runs through October 2023\nAbout the Artist \nMichelle Hoffman Ten Eyck is a ceramic artist\, who has been creating since childhood. Local to Flemington\, she has been building her ceramic business\, Way of the Butterfly\, since 2015. Michelle works full-full time as a therapist/ crisis worker.   \nMichelle creates dreamy and functional pottery\, including wall hangings\, figurines\, dishes\, and jewelry.  Her work is often described as “whimsical” and “storybook-like”\, with a heavy Halloween influence.  By default\, this makes it “sweetly spooky”. \nMichelle shows and sells her pieces at several art festivals per year\, and has her work in a few wonderful stores\, the most local being the Gift Horse in Flemington.   \n\nArtist Statement: \nHello! \nI am delighted to invite you to my upcoming show\, “Pieces of the Moon”.  Much of my work encompasses\, and is inspired by a lunar influence.  Many of my creations included in the show are centered around this common theme.  (Along with many other fun items!). Since the show is during the month of October\, it has also taken on a spooky twist.   \nI am so excited to show you the fun things I have been working on\, and I’m looking forward to meeting new friends!

SUMMARY:Open Jazz Jams
DESCRIPTION:Open Jazz Jams at Flemington DIY will be held from 1-5 PM the first Sunday of every month starting March 5th\, 2023. The sessions will provide an opportunity for musicians to play with an experienced band. From 1-2 PM the hosting musicians for the week will play. Other musicians will be invited to sit in and play between 2-5 PM (typically a minimum of 2 songs each\, circumstances permitting). With the exception of drum kit and piano\, all musicians should bring their own equipment (instruments\, amps\, drum sticks\, microphones\, etc.). The sessions will focus primarily on jazz standards and other jazz tunes contained in Hal Leonard Real Books volumes 1 through 3. Newcomers will be coached through the process.  \nA $3 to $5 donation to Flemington DIY will be required from each musician that plays at the session. Visitors that just want to listen to the music are also welcome to attend for all or any part of the 1-5 PM sessions free of charge.  \nFor questions about the sessions\, or to be added to the monthly text notification list for last minute cancellations or reschedules\, please email njjazzjam@gmail.com
