DESCRIPTION:JANUARY 17 – FEBRUARY 21\, 2026\nOPENING RECEPTION : Saturday\, January 17\, 2026 10am – 12pm\n \nFlemington DIY is starting off the New Year with a Youth Art Show!  We put out the call for young artist (ages 12 and younger) to be apart of an art show.  Seven brave local artists (ages 8-12) answered that call.  \nAll ages are welcome to come see what they’ve made and be inspired to create something yourself.  \n

SUMMARY:Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Ekphrastic poetry\, simply put\, is writing poetry about the visual arts.   \nTogether\, we will discuss the current exhibiting artworks at Flemington DIY\, using questions and prompts\, both prepared and improvised\, to help us creatively write in response to the local art.   \nAfter a mix of group discussion and individual writing exercises\, we will share our poetry and hear what we all came up with. \nIn this process\, we hope to create understanding of both ourselves and each other\, through writing and thinking creatively in new ways stimulated by local arts.
